Delaware City Refinery Loop Track

Delaware City, DE

R&M Engineering worked with Savage Services Corporation from Conceptual Layout through to final design of a rail double loop track crude oil unloading facility for the Delaware City Refinery.

R&M’s portion of the project included the design of all the rail for the project. Including the coordination and approval of this design with the Norfolk-Southern Railway Company.

R&M’s scope also included the structural design for the support of a 24" transfer pipe from the facility to the refinery tank farm, a distance of over 1.8 miles. This design entailed analysis of existing concrete and steel support structures, as well as the design of new steel and concrete structures. And one crossing under the mainline rail.
